What is MAPLE?
MAPLE stands for Martial Arts Physical Literacy Engine and is the framework Coach Phill Payne has been working on for over a decade.
The term Physical Literacy was first coined in in the 1920s but it was really brought back to life by Dr Margaret Whitehead in the early 1990s. Physical Literacy is basically the motivation, competence and confidence to stay physically active for live.
The MAPLE framework covers physical, social, psychological, technical and academic areas to help martial arts coaches construct their own program.
The MAPLE branding is purposefully subtle to allow you to either rebrand your programme under your own clubs name or co brand using MAPLE’s brand equity.
